On behalf of the staff, governors and pupils, I would like to thank you for your interest in Western Downland CE VA Primary School.
Our lovely school is an integral part of the Whitsbury, Rockbourne, Damerham and Sandleheath community. I hope you enjoy your visit to our website and discovering the most up to date news, events and school information.
The school comprises two sites; the infant site (Years R-2) in Damerham and the Junior site (Years 3-6) in Rockbourne. The sites work together to offer an excellent education for over 170 pupils.
Our school is well-resourced and offers the children an exciting and engaging curriculum with a wide range of experiences, school visits and special events. We pride ourselves on our engagement with families and the school community so ensure that there are plenty of opportunities for parents, families and friends to visit school and enjoy the children’s successes throughout the school year.
Our school is happy, vibrant and successful, with children at the heart of all that we do. It is the aim of the whole school team to help each child become a successful learner and well-rounded individual who is ready to make the next steps in their learning journey ‘The roots to grow and the wings to fly’. We are committed to ensuring children are known as individuals and that their unique personality, talents and interests are nurtured and developed to the full.
Our staff provide a calm, nurturing and stimulating environment where our Christian values of Love, Fellowship and Righteousness are evident in all that we do.
Through nurturing our children, both academically and spiritually, we aim to provide them with secure foundations for life, so that they leave us with an excellent all round education and a love of learning.
Our school is rated highly by Ofsted being recognised as “Good” in July 2017 with a “Good” SIAMS (Church school) inspection in June 2017.
Visits are encouraged and welcomed: I would be delighted to show you around our wonderful school.
