OUR SETTING

We are one school in the two beautiful villages of Damerham and Rockbourne, on the edge of the New Forest. In 1981, the two village primary schools were federated under the name of “Western Downland Primary School”. We enjoy the benefits of being part of our village communities, with close links to our churches in the parishes of Martin, Rockbourne, Damerham, and Whitsbury.

We welcome children from outside of the Western Downland parishes and have families from the surrounding towns of Alderholt, Cranborne and Fordingbridge.

The school caters for children ages 3-11 with Juniors based in Rockbourne, the infants and our Little Foresters Nursery in Damerham. We have 7 classes – one for each year group. Being a small school allows everyone to know each other well. As one child said, “We are like one big family”.
