Western Downland Primary School is committed to supporting initiatives to encourage sustainable and active travel on the journey to and from school. By encouraging walking, cycling or scooting to school we can help reduce congestion and pollution in the local area making it a better place to live and learn.
ModeShift Stars Education
We are part of a National schools award scheme called Modeshift Stars (Sustainable Travel Accreditation and Recognition). This scheme was established to recognise school that have demonstrated excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel. Modeshift Stars aims to improve the health and wellbeing of young people and we are delighted and very proud to have achieved our Very Good Travel Plan Accreditation.
Infant Site (Damerham)
Parents of pupils attending the infant site are encouraged to use the parking facilities at the Damerham Village Hall. Children should not be left to run around the village hall grounds. This causes damage to the landscape.
Please also try to stick to our voluntary one-way system at Damerham—exit only via the church causeway. No parking in Steels Lane please—this must be left clear for local access and emergency services at all times.
Junior Site (Rockbourne)
Parents of pupils attending the Junior site at Rockbourne should park in the gravel car park or on the road at the end of the school drive; parking outside of the school office is for staff (and disabled access) only. Parents parking on the road should keep driveways clear and avoid using the space allocated to buses for drop off and pick up.
